Fascination Figure - Pablo Picasso and Giovanni Rindler

With the exhibition Fascination Figure, Galerie Lehner presents for the first time a fine selection of 19 limited-edition etchings and lithographs by Pablo Picasso with several prints from what is probably his most famous series, the Suite Vollard. The selection of sheets shows Picasso's ongoing exploration of the theme of Eros in all its allegorical variations.
His immense graphic oeuvre is an expression of the necessity of his artistic expression and the joy of artistic experimentation with which he presents new approaches to the content and form of welll known subjects in his own visions, brought to plate with a confident line-language.

The graphic works are physically and formally accompanied by Giovanni Rindler's artworks. Rindler's sculptures are heavy in material and body, but graceful in movement and expression. The corposity and fullness of his heads and bodies are elegantly distorted and subtly abstracted. This leads to stereometric representations of the bodies with an elegance all of their very own.
The artists accompany each other in the exhibition space and find agreement in the expression and depiction of bodies and body parts. The exhibited artworks create a dialogue between line and form, between sheet and space. They encounter and converge in their fascination for the figure, which finds expression in the unbound movements of their bodies.
